Interactive Patent Citation Mapping
Pantros IP has released its newest feature, Interactive Patent Citation Mapping visualization tool, included in the Portfolio DSS and ProSearch Solutions modules.
The enhanced capabilities provided by the Interactive Patent Citation Mapping tool allow users to create a visual analysis of patent citations. The interactive controls utilized by this new technology platform allow the user to quickly drill through the forward and backward citations with the click of a button. Generations of views are easily traversed by simply selecting a new “patent of interest”.
Results can be grouped in the citation map display by selecting one of the grouping categories, which include Applicant Name (Assignee), Domestic Class, Filing Year, Inventor Name, International Class, Publication Year. When groups are displayed, the total number of backward and forward citations is shown for each group. The display name can also be changed to show the title. The abstract and title are searchable fields, allowing the user to focus on key words or technologies within the same graphical output.
The navigation panel provides quick views of bibliographic data relating to the patent of interest, the forward or backward citations, as well as “breadcrumbs” to allow retracing steps, in order to follow a different path through the citation map.
After the main page is painted, the analysis can be sent to various outputs: Excel®, Adobe® Acrobat®, or any printer.
